Meet Darkroom: The Easiest Way to Sell Your Art

Darkroom participated in both the Elevator Pitch Competition and Strakosch Venture Competitions hosted by the Shea Center for Entrepreneurship.

In the Spring of 2017, Darkroom won Boston College Shea Center for Entrepreneurship’s annual venture competition. Founded by two students while still at BC, Darkroom is currently still successfully operating.

Theodore Chapman ‘17 and Andres Bill ‘17 set out to create one of the slickest platforms to help creators make money and save time: Darkroom. Darkroom is an online platform where amateur and professional photographers can display and sell their limited-edition photos. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all a creator needs to begin selling their work online:

  1. Upload your photos
  2. Customize
  3. Share & Sell
  4. Darkroom will handle all the transactions, printing, shipping AND customer service

Prints on luster paper, canvas, metal, and framing, Darkroom is truly all a creator needs to bring their work to life. This is all thanks to the hard work of the Darkroom team! As artists themselves, you can clearly sense the passion behind this business. We are so happy to see Darkroom come this far and we cannot wait to see how it grows! If you are interested in learning more about Darkroom, check out their website here.

Darkroom entered the Strakosch Venture Competition in 2017 and walked away as the evenings top winners. Any BC student can also do the same and win even more prize money! There is still time to enter Start@Shea’s annual Strakosch Venture Competition. The application can be found here and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us via our email listed below! The application is due 04/14/2020 at 11:59pm EDT.
